Don't Drive Tired

After a traumatic journey - which involved one of the cats escaping at a rest stop in Denmark, a blowout on the German autobahn and French customs officials being dissatisfied with the pet passports at Boulogne - we (myself, my wife and my daughter) finally arrived back in the UK just before midnight on 4th August.
We set off to continue our journey to Bristol, but we were very tired so decided to heed the "Don't Drive Tired" signs and take a break at the motorway services. We stopped at the MOTO services at Reading West.
We took a toilet break and had a nap in the van. After a while I woke up and we continued our journey.

I've just received a "Parking Charge Notice" from the lovely folks at "CP Plus Ltd" which says that their automatic number plate recognition system recorded my vehicle parked at the service station from 02:02:16 and 04:56:42 and inviting me to pay the sum of £80.00 within 28 days or pay an extra £40.00 plus interest after that. Out of the goodness of their hearts they'll accept a mere £50.00 if I pay before 26th August.

I appreciate that these places have their rules and regulations, and I've paid the £50, but I've also sent them a nice email explaining that I won't be stopping at MOTO services again.

Would it be too complicated for their system to detect that you have overstayed your welcome and invite you to pay their standard parking fee (which is £8.00 for 24 hours) on exit? If you declined that offer then they could send their parking charge notice.

So, "Don't Drive Tired", but don't stop to rest for too long either.
